Of Clan Dalaigh
Mischelle presently lives in Whangamata with her two children.
Originally, she was a graphic designer working such fields as fashion illustration, stained glass design, corporate design advertising and display, print and tourism industries.
‘Modernisation killed the passion of it for me and took away styles which were the identity of the individual graphic designer. There is a pure honesty in holding a simple tool such as a brush or a pencil and guiding pigment around a canvas, similar to that of a gardener tilling the earth. The underlying vein to my life and art is the importance of nurturing the land as we do our children. We have the power to create havoc or beauty on this global canvas. The choice is ours.’
