Gwen has been painting since 1991. She has had no formal art training. Her watercolour flower paintings have been exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and she has received several awards for them. She has had four solo exhibitions and has participated in many group shows.
After painting with watercolours for ten years she is now working with acrylics on canvas ,making full use of the vibrant colours. Many of her paintings combine both flowers and landscape, featuring the coastline of Waiheke Island.
Recently she has moved on to a “split vision” format , focusing on New Zealand native flowers and trees.
Her studio on Waiheke Island is popular with both tourists and locals and her works hang in collections in New Zealand, Australia, U.S.A. and U.K. The studio in Rocky Bay is open to the public on weekends and public holidays or by arrangement
